At ItemNest, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information. We believe in transparency and want you to understand exactly what data we collect and why.
When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (encrypted). This is the minimum required to authenticate you and provide access to the platform.
If you sign in using a social provider (GitHub, Google, etc.), we receive your email address and basic profile information from that provider. We do not store your social account passwords.
We automatically collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and device information to ensure the platform functions correctly and to maintain security.
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and maintain your session. These are authentication cookies managed by our database provider (Supabase) and are required for the platform to function. We do not use any advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies. No third-party cookies are set beyond what is necessary for authentication.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for marketing purposes. Ever. Your email address is yours, and we will never use it for marketing or share it with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Database hosting and authentication. Your data is stored securely on Supabase's infrastructure.
Application hosting and deployment. Minimal technical data is processed for serving the application.
Payment processing (if you make a purchase). Stripe handles all payment data securely; we never store your credit card information.
Email delivery for essential service communications (password resets, account verification, notifications).
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we permanently remove all your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained for service improvement purposes. Backup copies are automatically purged within 90 days of deletion.
Your data may be processed and stored in data centers located in the United States and the European Union through our service providers (Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, and Resend). These providers comply with applicable data protection regulations to ensure your data is handled securely regardless of location.
Access: You can view all your personal data through your profile settings
Correction: You can update your information at any time in your account settings
Deletion: You can request account deletion by contacting us. We will permanently delete your data within 30 days
Export: You can request a copy of your data by contacting us
ItemNest is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. All data is transmitted using secure encryption (HTTPS/TLS), passwords are hashed using modern encryption algorithms, and we regularly update our security practices to protect against emerging threats.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we make significant changes, we will update the 'last updated' date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
